Surgeons in Operating Room

1) Surgical Procedures:

Most surgeries to remove benign or malignant lesions are carried out under local anaesthesia.

Sometimes, more complex surgeries are carried out in collaboration with highly skilled and experienced in-house board certified plastic surgeons.

Multidisciplinary team involvement is usually necessary for certain skin cancers such as advanced squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma.

SURGERY: About Us

Commonly Asked Questions Regarding Surgery:

Do I need a referral to see a dermatologist?

You do not need a referral if you wish to have a mole check or skin cancer screening. We would prefer to have a referral from your GP for other skin conditions.

How long do I have to wait for my surgical procedure?

We prioritize and aim to carry out surgery for all potentially serious skin cancers within 2 weeks from the day you are reviewed.

What helps to avoid delays for my surgery?

It is always very helpful to provide a list of your medications when you attend your appointments. A detailed medical history should also be available to ensure that the safety of surgical procedures is not compromised.

Are there any restrictions after my surgery?

It is best to discuss this with your surgeon as every procedure is different for everyone. In general, there are some restrictions pertaining to wound care advise and limitations to physical activity after surgery to ensure it heals well.
